New simplified student visa framework
A new simplified student visa framework has been designed for international students applying to pursue education in Australia at a participating university or non-university higher education provider.
From 01 July 2016, the Australian Government has adopted this new simplified student visa framework (SSVF) to support Australia’s education services sector.
Major Re-designing:
Major alterations under the SSVF are:
Reason for Modification
The modifications are undertaken to make the student visa framework less complex to steer for authentic students, bring about a more focused approach to immigration uprightness and develop a level playing field for all educational institutions.
Applying for a student visa under the SSVF
The SSVF has been sketched to substitute the previous streamlined visa processing and AL structure courses of action.
Under the SSVF, the integrated immigration risk result of the student’s education provider and country of citizenship is used to pilot the level of documentation that is required to be delivered by the student relating to monetary capability and English language proficiency.
Requirements of monetary and English language documentation when applying for a student visa under the SSVF
Prospective students are now capable to distinguish what documents they are required to furnish with their visa application by entering name of their desired education provider and nation of citizenship into an online tool.
The level of documentary verification required in relation to financial and English language competence is guided by the collective immigration risk of the prospective student’s education provider and country of citizenship.
